READY SET MOVE! Fitness Program for Youth Struggling with Obesity

Suzanne will be speaking on Thursday, April 3rd, 2013 from 11:45AM -12:45PM in St. Louis, MO at the 2014 AAHPERD National Convention & Expo.

Obesity and problems with being overweight are growing concerns in our society. For many children, playing with others may be difficult because of issues with weight and body image. This energetic presentation will review strategies and appropriate exercises and games along with nutritional and lifestyle check-ins for families to work together as a team. We will discuss opportunities to change habits, and take charge of their lifestyle choices, as well as examine assessment protocols and discuss reward systems to encourage motivation and enhance self-confidence.

Right Fit Provides Teacher In-Service at La Grange Elementary

Suzanne Gray, Eric Stone and Sheena Leedham of Right Fit Sport Fitness Wellness, recently gave a three hour in-service to twelve Physical Education and Health La Grange School Teachers on Proper Environment and Power of Play for Special Populations.

Suzanne covered the basics of Raise the Bar and its implementation in the classroom for children with and without special challenges. She elaborated on the D.I.M.E approach(design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation) when planning for any new fitness program. Sheena identified sensory processing hurdles many children with special needs face in the physical education school setting. Sheena also provided the teachers an array of strategies and solutions to meet individual and group sensory needs. Eric presented strength and conditioning exercises suitable for children and adults with special challenges and later showcased proper form and technique.

Family Time Magazine Hosts 3rd Annual Autism & Special Needs Seminar

Family Time Magazine will host the 3rd Annual Autism & Special Needs Seminar from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17 at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Parkway, in Palos Hills. Tickets are available by calling (815) 806-8844.

Many expert speakers are lined up for this year’s special event. This year's seminar will be expanded to include autism as well as products and services available for all special needs children.

Suzanne M. Gray will speak from 1 to 1:50 p.m. in Room 2.

Suzanne M. Gray and Sheena Leedham Prepare to Present at the Medical Fitness Association (MFA) 21st Annual International Conference

November 30th Right Fit’s owner, Suzanne M. Gray and Sheena Leedham are taking a trip to New Orleans to present at the Medical Fitness Association (MFA) 21st Annual International Conference. Suzanne and Sheena will be giving a presentation titled “The Proper Environment and Power of Play for Autistic Populations” in hope to spread the word on the importance of exercise and play for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Right Fit’s presentation is scheduled on December 1st from 8:30am – 10:00am.
